For the past several years, State Street employees have come to Collier Youth Services to volunteer and, as an added bonus, State Street funds a special treat for our Kateri Day Camp campers. This year we were fortunate enough (again) to have a group of wonderful volunteers not only make our campers’ day, but help spruce up our campus.
Knights of Columbus: Coming to Our Rescue, Once Again!
We are so incredibly grateful for the all the help the Knights of Columbus from St. Gabriel’s Church in Marlboro have done for Collier Youth Services over the past few months, and they continue amaze us!
Most recently, 6 Knights answered our last-minute call for help without any questions. These Knights did it all—from demolition to building furniture—to make sure the Collier High School S.T.A.R. program’s facilities were ready to accept students who need extra support and motivation.
Thank you NJNG!
Wow - here is a team of people that can get things done! Thanks to all of you for taking on this project – and for meeting our time crunch! The hard-working team built a slew of furniture pieces in preparation for a new program to support our high school students.
Thank you for your part in supporting our mission to help young people to move beyond their challenges. Through our unique, highly regarded special education programs, residential homes for young women, and summer recreational programs for low-income children, Collier helps young people to overcome the adversity in their lives and to grow toward their potential in an environment that promotes belonging, dignity, and hope.
State Street Volunteers help our Campers have a sweet day!
These 7 volunteers, led by Lisa Carroll, repainted the lamp posts on the pathway from Collier High School and Smith Hall, helping to create a much cleaner look for when our students and staff walk between the buildings during the upcoming school year.
Vonage Volunteers Help Create a Winter Wonderland
Nothing says “summer” more than a carnival and cotton candy, and that is exactly what our campers experienced! This year’s Kateri Day Camp carnival theme was Winter Wonderland. Campers played winter themed carnival games run by the wonderful volunteers from Vonage.
DCF--Providing fun, books, and so much more!
Ten years ago, the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) was born in response to the need to improve the lives of families involved with the child welfare system. The creation of DCF has been monumental and they are now a leader in providing guidance to the child welfare system, not only in the nation, but in the world. For their anniversary, DCF participated in community activities and events throughout the state, such as hosting book drives so that families can read together and stocking food pantries to help provide meals to the homeless, just to name a few.
Knights of Columbus Help Put The Finishing Touches On Our New Social Services Offices!
Collier High School social workers finally have their own social services wing. This renovated space is home to 13 offices, 2 conference rooms, 1 group room, and a kitchen. To help get this space ready for our social workers to move in over the summer, the Knights of Columbus from St. Gabriel Church in Marlboro dedicated 4 Saturdays—a total of 123 volunteer hours!—to putting together the finishing touches by assembling new office chairs and desks.
